Hi everyone, thank you to all who shared your useful feedback with me. I'm going to share a few things here about study partnership/groups as well about ways I’d like to support the teachings of this course to be more accessible and workable to more students.
Please continue to reach out with feedback and personal experience. I feel a devotion to do what I can to improve the workability and accessibility of these teachings.
Study partners/groups
For those that desire study partnerships, I suggest small groups of 2 - 4, but larger is fine if that's how it wants to be. My general sense is that small groups make it easier to create consistency and create a rhythm. You may wish to connect with people at a similar level of learning and skill and/or sense of resonance. Time zone may also be a useful consideration. Some of us might already have a a bit of a feel for one another from our participation in our live classes and from our forum posts. If you'd like I am very happy to be the shidduch (Yiddish for match maker) for connecting students together. On that, two points.
- Let me know below that you'd like to be matched and share with me any preferences/ information I should take into consideration as well as if you have a preference for a one on one partnership or a small group. It might be helpful to remind me of your existing skill level etc. as I may not know you super well just yet. Then I'll think about it and try my best to create pairs/groups that work well. For reference, there are just about 31 students in this course.
- You are under no obligation to stick with any partnership or group if it's not the right one for you. You are of course welcome to give it a try and see how it goes.
Suggestions for the study partnerships/groups
First and foremost, I think each group should find their own direction. This being said, here are some ideas/suggestions – some of which were communicated to me by students in our group.
- Simply watching/reading the course content together.
- Working on the assignments together
- Working together as a group on one single practice that you create:
- This can be a planetary placement of someone in your small group. You can all work on that together.
- Or, work with interpreting the sign/house combination of everyone in the group, or of someone you know well who gives consent.
- Find one signature (i.e. Mars in Scorpio in the 7th house) and look at a couple charts of well known people who all have that. Or of charts of people who have the polarity (Taurus in the 1st) etc etc- basically engage creative ways of engaging with the content and seeing it’s multi faceted expressions.
All this being said. At this stage, we are not interpreting full charts - so our goal is to develop a deep grasp of the evolutionary meaning of the planets and continue to strengthen our skill in grasping their multilayered expressions in various house/sign combinations.
My support to study groups/partnerships
If you and a small group are working on something together, feel free to share it with me (you can post on form if that feels accessible). If you are showing me sincere effort, I'd be open to creating space to meet with your group live to go over your work.
**************
At this point I'd like to share a few further reflections on how I can support the content of this course to become more workable/accessible. Again this is what I got right now, and I hope to continue to improve the container in this way.
Teachings on the houses
I received the good feedback that my curriculum is lacking when it comes to really delving into the meaning of the houses specifically. I understand that and I will create a little something for everyone on that soon. However, a reason why I do did not go into all the houses is because I have taken the perspective that we will grasp the incredibly deep and multi-layered meaning of the houses simply as we go; through repetition and gradual osmosis. There might be a detriment to that in that perhaps there is a need for a bit more content to start with. So I’m going to work on that.
This being said, I do have free content on each of the houses available (see below) which can be very helpful. I suggest studying my free content when applicable and helpful.
Recommended resources
In the workbook, each segment has a recommended resources page. I also have a free teachings page with a lot of useful material on it. Besides for that, obviously anything Jeffrey Wolf Green is relevant. We aren’t referencing his work too much at this point because we are at the beginning. We will work more directly with his published material more in Part II.
To keep this accessible for everyone, and since my knowledge of useful resources is constantly growing, I’m going to pin a thread on the forum or on the student page with useful resources that I can add to as it comes up, including the zodiac wheel creation webpage I used during our last class.
Using the forum to support our live classes
Before each class, please be invited to articulate your questions on the forum (ideally the day before), this will allow me to gather questions ahead of time and start with something concrete from the very beginning – and also allow students to be in the field of the question. Then, naturally more questions can arise during live class time. This is just an invitation for those who wish to do so. Spontaneous live q and a is still welcome.
OK that's all for now. Again I sense there is more to be seen here, so please feel free to reach out.
I would like to get involved in a study group. I am available most mornings and am on MST. I can be flexible to join at other times if I need to. Thanks Bob
Hey Bob, I am open to joining you! I am (PST) so you are only an hour ahead of me. I can do almost any morning too. Is there a better day you wanna throw out there?! I would suggest 9am(pst) which is 10 for you?! It allows me to get past the morning hussle of kids off to school and get back and settled in to focus.
Let me know!
Ten
Hi all,
Wanted to clarify that I will in fact be offering additional spots for groups to meet with me and that I first need to give myself a bit more time to work out a sustainable structure and schedule for that to work well on my end. I'm really excited about this idea and think it'll be really helpful for many of us.
Thank you Ari! I'm very excited about this additional offering of energy and time we can connect with you. I understand and can relate to being mindful of over extending yourself though.
I currently have established a study group with Ethan and Allison (both in Australia). We met first time this last week and agreed it was thoroughly worth continuing. We will meet each week. Our time is Mondays 7pm (PST) which is Tuesday 12 noon there time. So i just wanted to let you be aware of that. And if ever you were to join would be FANTASTIC. I'm sure theyd love because they are both struggling to be live in the class because its 4am Fridays for them.
I'm looking to be established in another group as I see what others say and offer.
Thanks,
Ten

Hi Ten,
That would be awesome. Probably Fridays would be best. I have other times we can look at too if needed.
I can do Fridays. Do you want to connect tomorrow? Or would you like to plan starting next week?
I'm pretty flexible. If another day pops up better thats cool too.
The more time I can devote to connecting with others that like to obsess on astrology with me, the more jolly I seem to feel!!! haha and if anyone else chimes in also that will be great....Let me know and I can get us a zoom link
Ten 🙂
I think today can work. We can talk about it more then. My email is wallsofreprieve@gmail.com.
@Ari, can you confirm that you want to give feedback from weekly assignments in the small group format and not on the forum? If we have general questions on the weekly topics should those stay on the forum?

If you are meeting me in a group, yes we can just do the chart practice then. Office hours can also be used for anything else that supports your practice (anything related to that week's segment or prior).
However, for those who would like more practice, even if you are in a group, you are still welcome to post practice assignments - I might just choose to respond to you during the office hours if I'll be meeting with you soon.
If we have general questions on the weekly topics should those stay on the forum?
Yes - but truly each group can use the office hours in any creative and intentional way that relates to the course content. Best to come to these meetings prepared with a specific intention/request - be it the practice assignment or something else related.
