Hey'all,
I was at a Jacob Collier concert this last week which caused me to reflect on the Leo + Aquarius polarity. I want to share to express my thoughts and see if this accurate or if it lands for others.
Jacob Collier has a Leo sun (not sure in what house) and this shows in his performance style. He has a very energetic stage presence seen in his bright multi-colored clothing choice and ability to jump from one instrument to another while maintaining a unique contribution via that instrument. A lot of his performance sends the message, "look at me I'm extraordinarily talented and no one comes close to my ability", but rightfully so. This comes up in his constant use of reharmonization, where he takes a harmony and riffs on it. My impression is that he explores reharmonization so much due to the way audiences react to that particular musical style. It creates a "wow" factor in the audience, which reinforces both his unique abilities and directs him to create a musical palette with the most surface area for those experiences.
If that was the entirety of his performance it would be unbalanced and I think Jacob knows this. To balance it out, Jacob has brilliantly delved into the humanistic aspects of his craft and pulled in the entire audience as a community. One particular way he achieves this is via the "audience choir". He puts the focus on the audience to harmonize as a choir with Jacob conducting. In this segment, it really feels like the center of gravity of the performance shifts to the collective and Jacob is just playing a part in the larger whole. Part of the intention, as he shared on stage, was to collectively experience music as a powerful and deep force of change. Essentially raising the vibration of the entire collective via the technology of music, which felt very Aquarian to me.
I was left with the impression that a conductor as an archetype straddles the line between Leo and Aquarius. They simultaneously are the center of attention and on the outside of the group. They are uniquely expressing themself and also seeing the big picture of the collective. Something that Jacob Collier does well.
Curious what y'all think~
Brenten this was so great. I really enjoyed your thoughts on this. Using this experience you just lived through to connect the way these archetypes are actually experienced is so valuable. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for these thoughts to reflect on,
Ten
Such a great observation and intuitive reflection Brenten. Yes to all.

I don't know, but what you wrote feels true for me. I'd want to see more charts of people who are actually playing the role of conductor to understand what it means in each individual context. That would help me grasp this better.
My thoughts now: the conductor is "watching" the whole orchestra from a higher vantage point, and at the same time orchestrating the individual pieces while retaining the larger birds eye view.
