Hi Ari, when looking at a chart with a very late degree ascendant cusp and the majority of the 1st house is in the next sign, for example.........let's say its 29 degrees Leo ascendant so the majority of the 1st house is in Virgo. Does that have any "weight" on the themes of the first house? or are we still only speaking to the first house relative to Leo themes?

Hi Allison,

The actual sign on the AC CONDITIONS the entire house. So even if it's the very last degree, the Leo AC energizes all activity in the rest of the house. Beyond that, we just need to see it all in context. Lets say someone has a Leo AC but then lots of planets in Virgo in the 1st house, naturally Virgo is going to be a very dominant expression here. Nevertheless, the Leo AC is still there conditioning that entire house, and will speak strongly to how the soul will instinctively orient to life experience.

The position of the Sun (ruler of the Leo AC) will also give further perspective on this.

Lastly, it all needs to be intuitively seen in context so we can essentially understand what the AC actually means for that individual soul - (why they have that AC, what it reflects about their soul purpose/ongoing evolutionary needs). This we will begin to unpack later in the course!

@ari Awesome, thanks for the clarification. That makes sense now and I understand there will be more to unpack there as we learn about planets and aspects later on.

Cheers
