Antonelas Bio:

My name is Antonela Kusić, and I am 51 years old. I was born on March 13, 1973, in Dubrovnik, at 8:45 AM.

I am the eldest of three children. When I was just 10 months old, my mother sent me to live with my grandmother in the countryside because there was no one to take care of me. I spent the first four years of my life there, experiencing complete and absolute freedom and love from my grandmother.

When I returned to my mother, the terror began. She physically and emotionally abused me. I moved out when I was 24 years old. However, I struggled to establish a normal relationship.

I grew up independently, often feeling as though I were crazy because I sensed and felt things more deeply than others. I frequently felt inadequate, as though I wasn’t good enough and didn’t deserve anything. What kept me going was my rebellious spirit—it’s what kept me alive.

At 18, after finishing school, I began ignoring my parents completely. I acted out and was utterly wild toward them until I was about 21. By then, I had managed to get them to leave me alone, especially my mother. At 24, I moved out, and that’s when my real personal growth began. In my early twenties, I started exploring life, trying every possible option to see what worked and what didn’t.

The most significant change happened when I turned 48 and fell seriously ill. That experience transformed me completely and in a positive way. I started seeing people differently, learning to love everyone and to approach every situation with the mindset of turning it into something beneficial for myself and the greater good.

I am also a single mother living in a very conservative and primitive community, which has been one of my greatest life lessons. Despite the challenges, I am proud of my journey and the strength I have developed along the way.
